Preciousness can conventionally be defined by society, or by monetary worth. However, this is not the true source of preciousness. Rather, it is defined by the stories and by the life associated with an object. As I found with this project, that preciousness stems from life, and often times, a life that is no longer in this world. With this project, I redefined preciousness for myself and found the true source of it. That source is life, and loss. Precious objects are artifacts of life, and a vessel for those remaining affections we can not bear to part with.
